Henry Brent (1709-1769) was a brother-in-law of William Clifton. Clifton had purchased from Brent his 1806–acre tract of land in the Neck and a 555–acre tract in the forks of Little Hunting Creek.

Brent did business with the blacksmith at Mount Vernon (see Ledger A, 76).
