Jedediah Sanger was one of the earliest settlers of Montgomery County, New York. He was a judge, newspaper owner, state representative, and state senator. Sanger leased from GW and George Clinton a 234-acre parcel on the south side of the Mohawk River in Montgomery County. The parcel was part of the land which GW and George Clinton had purchased along the Mohawk River in 1783.
