Sarah Savin of Maryland was the niece of Thomas Colvill's wife, Frances (Francina). In 1767 she married William Bernard (1730–1782), a lawyer in King George County, Virginia. In his will, Thomas Colvill provided that Sarah should receive £250 current money as well as a slave girl (see Ledger B, 21; Ledger C, 13).
