Ledger B, 1772 - 1793: pg.143

Debit Side Annotation

Line 11 - In a letter of 12 Nov. 1775, GW's estate manager, Lund Washington, informed GW that he would again write him by Martha Washington upon her departure from Mount Vernon for GW's headquarters at Cambridge, Mass., which he estimated to be the following Tuesday or Wednesday (14 and 15 Nov. 1775). Martha likely left on the 14th, as Lund wrote GW on that date, and mentioned Martha having left "home." With that letter, Lund also enclosed an account of his receipts and expenditures on behalf of GW, and noted the "money now in the House". Martha arrived in Cambridge on 11 December. See Lund Washington to GW, 12 Nov. 1775 [Rotunda | Founders Online | Print (Revolutionary War Series, Volume 2, pages 355-57)]; Lund Washington to GW, 14 Nov. 1775 [Rotunda | Founders Online | Print (Revolutionary War Series, Volume 2, pages 373-77)]; and GW to George Baylor, 28 Nov. 1775, n.2 [Rotunda | Founders Online | Print (Revolutionary War Series, Volume 2, page 444)].
