Line 14 - In November 1784, GW asked Elias Boudinot (1740-1821) to procure for him a quantity of orchard grass seed "as will sow about ten acres of Land," and to have it either shipped to Alexandria, Va., or sent to Clement Biddle for forwarding to him. Boudinot initially forwarded to Biddle six or seven bushels of grass seed, and shared with GW advice he had received from a farmer on the best means of sowing it. He subsequently sent GW, through Biddle, additional grass seed. See GW to Boudinot, 3 Nov. 1784 [Rotunda | Founders Online | Print (Confederation Series, Volume 2, pages 115-16)]; Boudinot to GW, 9 Feb. 1785 [Rotunda | Founders Online | Print (Confederation Series, Volume 2, pages 333-34)]; Biddle to GW, 12 April 1785 [Rotunda | Founders Online | Print (Confederation Series, Volume 2, pages 490-91)].
