Ledger B, 1772 - 1793: pg.224

Credit Side Annotation

Line 14 - After GW asked David Stuart to contract with someone "for 800 Bushls of clean & good Oats," Stuart made an agreement with George Savage, in which the latter agreed to deliver the above amount of oats "at two and six-pence the bushel" to the wharf at Mount Vernon. On 5 Feb. 1786, GW informed Stuart of the delivery of the oats, and three days later, on 8 Feb., GW wrote Savage to thank him for the oats, which GW claimed were "good & clean". See GW to David Stuart, 10 Dec. 1785 [Rotunda | Founders Online | Print (Confederation Series, Volume 3, pages 444-45)]; David Stuart to GW, 18 Dec. 1785 [Rotunda | Founders Online | Print (Confederation Series, Volume 3, pages 465-67)]; GW to Stuart, 5 Feb. 1786 [Rotunda | Founders Online | Print (Confederation Series, Volume 3, pages 537-38)]; and GW to George Savage, 8 Feb. 1786 [Rotunda | Founders Online | Print (Confederation Series, Volume 3, pages 552-53)]
