Patapsco River (Md.)

The Patapsco River is formed about twenty miles west of Baltimore, flowing about sixty-five miles southeast to the Chesapeake Bay. On 6 May 1775, while traveling to Philadelphia to attend the second Continental Congress, GW paid 14s. for both a guide to Baltimore and ferriage at the Patapsco River (see Ledger B, 193).
