Berkeley County (Va., now W.Va.) Berkeley County was formed in 1772 from the northern part of Frederick County, Va., and is now part of West Virginia.	Greenbrier County, West Virginia Greenbrier County was formed in October 1777 from Botetourt and Montgomery counties in Virginia. It is now in the southeast portion of West Virginia. GW owned land in that county.	Shenandoah Falls (Potomac River; W.Va.) The Shenandoah Falls run about two miles down the Potomac River from Elk’s Run to the mouth of the Shenandoah River.
