City Tavern (Philadelphia, Pa.)

The City Tavern, which Daniel Smith opened in 1774, was a popular place for members of Congress to meet and dine after their sessions. Standing on the west side of Second Street above Walnut, it was modeled on the finest London taverns and featured several large clubrooms.
