Thomas Davis was a weaver at Mount Vernon. GW’s account of the weaving done under the supervision of Davis, found in DLC:GW, runs from 1 Jan. 1767 until 30 March 1771. In 1767 Davis was responsible for weaving slightly over 1,500 yards of linen, wool, and cotton cloth of various sorts, valued at £51.11.1. In 1773, GW paid Capt. James Page of the Trimley on Davis's behalf for the passage of his mother and sister (see Ledger B, 86).
