George Digges (1743–1792) of Warburton Manor, Prince George’s County, Md., lived directly across the Potomac from Mount Vernon and frequently visited GW.
GW's account with Digges shows that in September 1774, Digges owed 12 shillings for "Taylors Work making a Coat". The account indicates that a settlement was made (see Ledger B, 20). In July 1788 Digges sent two of his mares to be mated with Royal Gift (see Ledger B, 270).
