Credit Side Annotation

Line 18 - English portrait painter Robert Edge Pine (1730-1788), had stayed at Mount Vernon from 28 April to 19 May 1785, in order to paint portraits of GW, Martha Washington, the four Custis grandchildren, and of Frances ("Fanny") Bassett. For more on the payments GW remitted to Pine, see Ledger B, 212, and the annotation there.
