Brothers Baldwin Mathews Buckner (d. 1778) and John Buckner (d. 1790), both of Gloucester County, Va., were partners in the firm of Baldwin & John Buckner, which engaged in the West Indies trade.

Baldwin was at Mount Vernon on 19 Dec. 1772,  at which time he contracted, on behalf of the firm, with GW to buy flour for the West Indian trade.  That same month, GW sold the firm 300 barrels of superfine flour for which he received a bond to secure payment the following April in Williamsburg (see Ledger B, 65; see also Diaries, 3:148-49).
