Line 34 - On 16 May 1786 Moses Ball (1717-1792), whose "effects" had been seized under execution, came to Mount Vernon for the purpose of borrowing money from GW in the hopes of redeeming his property. GW lent him £10 for that purpose. In November 1788 Ball repaid GW part of this loan. See Ledger B, 275; see also Diaries, 4:331 [Rotunda | Founders Online].
